Recipe 1

  1. Pour 1/8 cup of your favorite fabric softener into your spray bottle.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of baking soda to the bottle.
  3. Fill the rest of the bottle with water.
  4. Replace the cap and shake the bottle well.

In this recipe, the fabric softener acts as the smell-good while the baking soda removes the stink that may be embedded in whatever you’re spraying. Safe for all fabrics.

Recipe 2

  1. Pour 2 tablespoons of rubbing alcohol into the spray bottle.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of Purex crystals.
  3. Fill spray bottle with hot water.
  4. Replace the cap and shake the bottle well until the crystals dissolve.

The alcohol in this recipe will make the spray evaporate much faster than just water, while the Purex helps make whatever you’re spraying smell good. *CAUTION: Use this on a small corner of the fabric before moving on to check for discoloration of the fabric.

Recipe 3 (all natural)

  1. Measure 1 tablespoon baking soda into a bowl
  2. Add 10 drops of your favorite essential oil on top of the baking soda and mix well with a fork or wire whisk. (This will help keep the oil suspended in the water.)
  3. Put the baking soda/oil mixture into the spray bottle using your funnel.
  4. Add 2 cups distilled water.
  5. Replace the cap and shake the bottle well.

This recipe is safe on all fabrics, smells great, removes foul odors, and is totally natural! A great way to take all of the chemicals out of the equation.
