Accessory DIY Tutorial: Flower Hair Band – Hippie Hair Jewelery

I wish the spring coming up and refuse to believe that we’re supposed to get snow in Linz on Thursday again. To recover from this shocking message and to get a better mood, I bought two pairs of summer shoes and made this pretty hairband.

And IT HELPED! The “Good Mood Tutorial” I show you here today, the shoes you will get to see tomorrow …;-)

Material And Tools – For This DIY Project You Need

  1. Brown leather strap
  2. Fabric flower (possibly with leaves)
  3. Scissors
  4. Glue gun

Although one can dispense the glue very well with the gun, it can happen that something goes wrong. In order to protect the work surface from potential glue spots, put some baking paper underneath.

DIY Tutorial: The Step-By-Step Craft Instructions

DIY Step 1 Cut flower stem

Cut the plastic stem of the flower with scissors.

DIY Step 2 Braid the leather band plait

Braid a plait with the leather straps. If you (like me) have a thin leather strap, you can put the band together twice. In this case, you have four strips of equal length, which you braid to a plait by the method: “single band – two bands – single-band”.

DIY Step 3 Glue the leaves

Apply some glue on the flower for sticking on the leaves. Skip this step, if you don’t want to have leaves.

DIY Step 4 Glue flower on leather strap

Tie the braided band around your head, so you can see which position of the flower fits best. Then glue the flower including the leaves on the leather band.

The finished flower hairband.
