Even behind today’s DIY Advent calendar door hides a “readers request“, because I promised this DIY tutorial to Gabriela and Anna already in July. I could now say “Good things need time”, but the fact is that I had no time to write it. “Better late than never”, as the hair accessories now fit perfectly into the party-and-ball season.
Material And Tools – For This DIY Project You Need
- Some felt
- Scissors
- Feathers ( marabou feathers, duck feathers)
- Sequins applications (hobby shop or via eBay )
- Craft glue
- Hair comb, hair clip or headband
DIY Tutorial: The Step-By-Step Craft Instructions
DIY Step 1
Take the hair comb as a measure and cut the felt a little larger and about 2 centimeters wider than the hair comb.
DIY Step 2
Coat craft clue on one half of the felt.
DIY Step 3
Cut off the thick parts of the feather stems …
DIY Step 4
… and glue them to the felt. Then put again a layer of craft glue over it …
DIY Step 5
… and glue the next feathers.
DIY Step 6
Again coat a thin layer of glue on the feathers and fold the bottom side of the felt above them.
DIY Step 7
Glue the sequins applications to the felt and to the lower parts of the feather stems.
DIY Step 8
Cut the surplus felt a few millimeters above the sequined applications.
DIY Step 9
Coat the top of the hair comb with craft glue and glue the finished jewelry to it.
DIY Step 10
Cut a thin strip of felt …
DIY Step 11
… and glue it to the backside of the hair comb. Cut off the surplus felt as well. DONE!
