This post got published a little later than usual, but I had to keep my fingers crossed for my two favorite teams Portugal and Spain. Now both are well up and I can devote myself to today’s alternative World Cup tip.
I know, I have promised you this tutorial for a long time, but the search for a suitable material took a little longer.
Material And Tools – For This DIY Project You Need
- 130 x 130 cm (52 x 52 inch) wide fabric (not too heavy, not too light)
- scissors
- measuring tape
- marking chalk or marker
- pins
DIY Tutorial: The Step-By-Step Craft Instructions
DIY Step 1 Pattern
PATTERN – Cut the fabric to the desired length (130 x 130 cm, 52 x 52 inch), fold it in the middle, and iron it.
DIY Step 2
Leave from the left and the right a distance of 50 cm (20 inches) and mark a 30 cm (12 inch) long and 5 cm (2 inches) wide (makes 10 cm – 4 inches in sum at the widest point!) round neck.
DIY Step 3
Fix the cut for the neck with pins.
DIY Step 4
Cut out the neck with a 1.5 cm (0.6 inches) seam allowance.
DIY Step 5
Now stitch the hems and neck.
DIY Step 6
On 25 cm (10 inches) in distance to the fabric fold sew together the front and the back of the tunic for the “sleeves” with a 20 cm (8 inch) long seam (see pattern).
DIY Step 7
Cutaway the excess fabric with (zigzag) scissors or, depending on the type of fabric, seam the edges. DONE!
