Jewelry DIY Tutorial: New Outfit For My Bracelet

I do not know how it goes for you, but on vacation, I much harder can resist the many bargains. From my recent trip to Italy, I took with different colored plastic bracelets for only EUR 0.50 each. Ok, at first glance they look pretty boring, but since they have a nice smooth surface, they can easily spiced up in many ways.

In my current DIY tutorial I will show you how to give a summer-plastic bracelet a new outfit with a little cord. And the best part is that it’s made in a few minutes. When you do not like the new style anymore, you can easily cut the outfit with a scissor to have the old bracelet again.

Material And Tools – For This DIY Project You Need

  1. Boring bracelet
  2. Braided cord
  3. Scissors

DIY Tutorial: The Step-By-Step Craft Instructions

From the braided cord cut about 4 m and fold twice. The cords you get at a very cheap price in the hobby shop or on the Internet. I paid for a 20 m – roll only EUR 1.50.

As on the left figure, pull the ends of the string through the loop.

Tighten.

Now pull the strings from top to bottom. Hold the top two strings with one hand.

Pull the cord from bottom to top through the resulting loop and to the right. Again tighten.

Lead the strings from right to left among the bracelet.

Pull the cords through the loop and to the left. So go on, until you’re ready. Make sure not to twist the cord and tighten the strings after each node so the “cover” does not get too loose.

When you arrive at the end, pull one of the two cords through the first loop.

Now knot together the two ropes twice.

Cut off the surplus of the cords, fix the ends of the rope with a lighter, and just press them firmly to the bracelet. DONE!
