Little Fairytale Houses for Your Garden

The beauty of these cute little houses is that there are never two identical ones. Making them sparks a long buried childlike desire to scrounge and forge for whatever materials you may find to decorate your very own backyard home. Obviously, nobody can, nor should tell you how to make your own, but there are some inspirational, creative, and just darn cute ideas that you simply have to see before you go about making your own.

Here are a few tips and some videos to get your imagination going.

The first logical steps would include deciding on the size, location, and materials you will need for your creation.

For instance, here the maker needed some pinecones.

This one required popsicle sticks.

Tree bark made for a nice little bridge.

Your creative miniature getaway can be even more miniature than you think. Take this tea cup garden decorated with sushi sticks, tiny plants and cactuses.

Miniature doesn’t have to mean tiny. You can commission a flower pot or buck to host your little brainchild.

Broken doesn’t have to mean ruined. In some cases, such as this one, it means improved!

Toys, figurines and little statues are all game.

Complexity isn’t always a good thing. Start by finding some beauty in simplicity, then gradually add elements as you see fit.

In addition to empty or broken flowerpots, living house or outdoor plants can be ideal places to implement your big ideas in a spall way.

Get funky! Make it a theme park, for instance. The circus came to town, like depicted below.

You don’t have to fit your whole idea into a small pot. Add a door, like they did here.

These tiny doors have a certain magic and mystery to them. They give a new perspective on the surrounding you create for them.

Another idea is to make something in a nearby park!
