Detachable Shoe Decoration – Second Set …and ACTION

I love birthdays! Today my darling celebrates his birthday, and because I do not want to spend this great day in front of the PC, I’ll write very briefly with another Do-It-Yourself tutorial for a detachable shoe decoration.

Since I tinkered my first flexible shoe clips, it seethes in me and my new ideas get no borders. Out from the last remnants of my old leather pants I made these shoe decorations with sequins, rhinestones, and studs. Since this is certainly not my last DIY project with shoes, I have to think about how to call these things. Until now, I call them “Shoe Decoration” Do you have an idea, perhaps? For any suggestions, I would be very grateful.

DIY Tutorial: The Step-By-Step Craft Instructions

DIY Step 1

First, we need to mark the forms of the straps on the fabric. The following measurements are required twice each:
– 32 x 4 cm
– 28 x 5 cm
– 22 x 2.5 cm
– 24 x 3 cm

DIY Step 2

Cut the straps.

DIY Step 3

Set the sewing machine on a loose zig-zag stitch.

DIY Step 4

Fold the straps in the center to the inside and stitch them. Several times I have stitched on it, as the leather is thus flatter and I was very pleased by the zig-zag pattern.

DIY Step 5

Now, put on a shoe and stuck the straps like in the picture. First stuck the wide strap around the heel with pins, then the lower strap, and then the front strap. I put on red shoes, so you can better see the straps.

DIY Step 6

For sticking together the straps for the second, you can now use the first straps as a template. Simply put the fixed ones underneath and stick together the second in the same positions.

DIY Step 7

The straps are sewn together now.

DIY Step 8

Now put the straps (above the heel) on the shoe, mark the correct position for the fastenings with pins and then attach the Velcro strips. I additionally sewed the Velcro strips by hand. You could theoretically take snaps, I feel it as unpleasant as they push me on the heel while walking.

DIY Step 9 Continue the Tutorial With Rhinestones, Sequins, and Studs

Fix the studs at the bottom strap.

DIY Step 10

The sequins are fixed on the small strap in the middle.

DIY Step 11

And the wide ankle strap is embellished with large (or many small) rhinestones. DONE!
