The reason for this “spinning” was this year’s Oscar Awards ceremony. A similar necklace I discovered at an actress, who is unknown to me. And although I’ve only seen her a couple of seconds, I knew immediately I must copy the necklace.
Now, a few months and two failed attempts later, one of my Halloween decoration spiders has been transformed in an “Oscar”-necklace. And since that, every day I think of more ideas for crafting “Spider-Jewelry”. But more on that another time …
Material And Tools – For This DIY Project You Need
- A small (toy) spider
- Spray paint or paint pen in gold
TIP: My first two attempts failed because only very few paints keep well on the plastic material of the spider. Therefore best to take the spider to the store and ask the expert:). My last attempt with a paint pen was successful. - Necklace
- Connection ring
- Eye-loop
- Pliers
DIY Tutorial: Step-by-Step Craft Instructions
DIY Step 1
Paint the spider with the paint pen or spray. Allow drying.
DIY Step 2
Screw the eye-loop in the head of the spider. TIP: It even gets easier if you first drill a small hole with a sharp tool.
DIY Step 3
Attach a short piece of chain (mine has a length of 5 centimeters) to the necklace.

And attach the spider to the necklace. DONE!
