When you hear the phrase “pin-up girl”, the first that comes to mind is probably Marilyn Monroe. She was a fashion icon, and her seductive figure largely defined the pin-up style. But sometimes people forget about other charming girls who are really worth remembering. For example, Hilda.
Created by illustrator Dwayne Bryers (1911-2012), Hilda was a brash redhead that definitely didn’t shy away from flaunting her curves. Not only was she one of the most attractive girls of her time, she was also a fairly clumsy girl that captivated her fans with this quality, turning mere clumsiness into something irresistibly cute. Hilda graced American calendars from about 1950s to 1980s.
